Some Revealing Statements By ‘Token Jew’ Peter Beinart on the Vile Dismantling Antisemitism Panel

A few nights ago, JVP held their gross Dismantling Antisemitism panel, featuring non-Jewish antisemites like Rashida Tlaib and Marc Lamont Hill, as well as a token Jew – the Israel-hater Peter Beinart.

While the latter is certainly not someone to look up to, even a broken clock is right twice a day, and he said some things that I imagine made the hosts and other panelists cringe.

Firstly, he admits to the antisemitism of the Left. Of course, he falsely claims it is not the greater threat (it most certainly is), but nevertheless this is something the Left are loathe to acknowledge.

Then he says something that most will not really think about, but is extremely revealing

“it’s critically important that we fight for the right of anti-Zionist Jews and anti-Zionist non-Jews to be part of the Jewish community and part of these conversations.”

Leave aside the utter stupidity of saying anti-Zionist non-Jews should be part of the Jewish Community for a second; Israel-haters of the Left claim they are not antisemitic, suggesting there are plenty of Jews who also hate Israel (the “some of my best friends are Jewish” defense). Yet here, Beinart admits they are the minority. So much so, that people need to “fight for their right” to be part of the Jewish community.

Think about this for a second. If a majority of Jews were anti-Zionist, then there would be no need to fight for this right. They would essentially be the Jewish community, and Zionist Jews would be the ones feeling excluded. The reason they feel so marginalized is that they are a small minority of Jews. The vast majority of Jews love and support Israel, and there’s a reason for that – Zionism is an integral part of Judaism.

Beinart follows this up with something else telling – “Zionists Jews should not be excluded from progressive spaces.” This seems to be a direct rebuke of the position of haters who do blatantly try to exclude Zionist Jews in this way. I doubt Linda Sarsour will welcome this part of “his evolution.”

Of course, none of this stops Beinart from willing to be allies with those on the Left disseminating antisemitism, including some of his fellow panelists.
