Gal Gadot has responded to criticism of her casting as Cleopatra:
Gal Gadot is pushing back against claims that she is whitewashing Egyptian history by portraying Cleopatra in an upcoming film.
“First of all, if you want to be true to the facts, then Cleopatra was Macedonian,” the Israeli actress said in an interview Tuesday with BBC Arabic. “We were looking for a Macedonian actress that could fit Cleopatra. She wasn’t there, and I was very passionate about Cleopatra.”After the blockbuster project was announced in October, critics took to social media to argue that the character should be portrayed by an Arab actress. Cleopatra was the last monarch of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, which ruled the country from 305 B.C. to 30 B.C., but she was a descendant of Ptolemy I Soter, a Macedonian Greek general.

Leaving aside the vicious slur of Israelis (he just couldn’t help himself), Silverstein has once again shown he is an ignoramus par excellence.
As the report clearly states, Cleopatra traced her family origins to Macedonian Greece and Ptolemy I Soter, one of Alexander the Great’s generals, even though she was born in Egypt.
To put this in perspective, this is the equivalent of Silverstein mocking someone casting a Japanese actor to play Japanese-American actor Pat Morita in a biopic of his life, instead of a White American one.
So clearly Gal was correct…and clearly Silverstein does not know how to read.
Eye suspect this has something to do with it
Not that this bothers Al Jizz, who provide Silverstein with a platform (and I assume money)
