Latest Libel: Israeli Police Stole Goods From Palestinian Street Markets

Robert Inlakesh is a so-called journalist, whose resume includes a who’s-who of anti-Israel sites, including Mint Press, Mondoweiss, MEMO, TRT World, RT, and Iran’s Press TV.

So immediately you know you should take anything he posts with a grain of salt.

Yesterday he posted this “breaking” video:

It has been liked and retweeted over 700 times at the time of this post.

Naturally, DouchebloggerTM Richard Silverstein latched on to it:

and, in typical Silverstein style, did not not allow being shown to be wrong to get in the way of a good demonization:

Of course, he is still wrong and misrepresenting what the video actually shows.

I turned to my friend Fleur Hassan-Nahoum, the Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem, to ask if she could shed some light.

This is what she told me:

The Israeli police are shown confiscating goods from illegally-placed stalls. The stalls were placed near a main road, interfering with traffic and endangering pedestrians. About a year ago, a girl was even killed there because the stalls blocked the sidewalk and she had to walk on to the road.

Here’s the kicker: the palestinian Arab residents themselves asked for the stalls to be vacated! And the stalls were not set up by the residents, but rather palestinian Arab infiltrators who came from Judea and Samaria.

So there you have it. Another libel not even close to representing what actually happened.
