Oh Jewish ‘Social Justice Warriors’, Where Art Thou?

Here on Israellycool, we have covered the injustice surrounding the case of Sarah Halimi, murdered by her neighbor who was found to be ineligible to stand trial because he was under the influence of cannabis and therefore not criminally responsible for his actions. As I pointed out, even animals have it better in France, and French President Macron agrees the law needs to be changed.

Former NY State Assemblyman Dov Hikind arranged a candlelight vigil in front of the French Consulate a few days ago to honor Sarah’s memory and demand justice from the French government.

Around 70 people reportedly attended. Another such event is scheduled for Sunday in London.

Yet the world media has pretty much ignored the story, as have the Wokesters and social media justice warriors of the world. Compare, for example, the barrage of posts regarding George Floyd and the trial verdict, or those demanding an end to hatred against Asian-Americans.

True, Americans are more focused on what is happening in the US, and the Sarah Halimi murder happened in France. But we have seen rising incidences of Jew hatred also in the US, and – besides the EndJewHatred movement and some individuals – we are just not seeing the same level of demands for justice for Jews.

I can’t say this surprises me (one reason: many of the Jew-haters happen to unfortunately also be BLM ‘activists’ and other so-called ‘human rights defenders’), but it does disgust me. What disgusts me even more are how so many influential Jews – including celebrities – are not fighting for this end to Jew hatred, even though they are being very vocal about these other causes like BLM and an end to Asian hatred.

Israellycool contributor Virág Gulyás – herself a non-Jew – recently called out Jewish actress Mayim Bialik, and even Gal Gadot, over this:

Virág has a point.

If Jews are not ready to stand up for the rights of their fellow Jews, how can we expect non-Jews to stand up for our rights?

Update: I should point out that those who do stand up for an end to Jew hatred are invariably also those who stand up for Israel. Do the math.
