I have already posted how so many celebrities have stood in solidarity with those firing rockets into Israel.
Some – although way fewer – have stood with Israel, and some have made a point to stand with all the innocent people affected by this palestinian-triggered round of war.
One of the latter is singer Rhianna, who seems to have learned from her #FreePalestine post debacle of 2014.
This is what Rhianna posted on Instagram:

As someone who lives here, follows events closely, and has a deep understanding of history and the issues surrounding the conflict, I find this post to be simplistic and underpinned by some faulty assumptions. It seems to equate the terrorists deliberately trying to murder civilians with the Israeli government acting to defend her citizens against such terrorists; it mentions lives lost in Gaza but not those in Israel; it mentions the children in Gaza killed, without recognizing how many of those were actually killed by Hamas rockets; it also falsely implies how palestinian children are hiding in bomb shelters, when none in Gaza exist – Hamas has invested money in the rockets and terrorist infrastructure instead of in such shelters.
Yet I do appreciate that at a time where so many of her fellow celebrities are taking a morally bankrupt stand with the terrorists, she is speaking out with good intentions in support of all innocent civilians. So I would not go out of my way to criticize her for this.
One who has seen fit to criticize her publicly is none other than antisemite and terror supporter Marc Lamont Hill, who naturally essentially sides with Hamas.
Note how he accuses Israel of starting this, implying Hamas’ response is somehow justified and understandable. He also addresses the fact that Gaza has no bomb shelters, but implies this is Israel’s fault!
Lamont Hill’s response, rather than acting as an indictment of Rhianna, is an indictment of Lamont Hill.
