A few days ago, a meeting was held for antisemitic, terror-supporting Congressional candidate Huwaida Arraf. Photos from the event were posted on social media.
One photo in particular stood out for me.
I couldn’t help but feel the painting in the background seemed oh so appropriate, with its seeming depiction of violence, given Arraf’s support of terrorism.
But after investigating deeper, I discovered it is even more appropriate than I first thought.
The painting is depicting Syrians! Which makes perfect sense.
And Arraf’s wearing of a thobe is itself a hint to the fact there was no real distinct palestinian identity.
Of course, this means nothing to the Arraf supporter who posted the photos, as well as Arraf herself, who claim the entirety of Israel, not Syria, as their homeland.
