Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Thinks Calling for Israel’s Destruction is “Discussing An Issue With Respect to Palestinians”

What is it about The Squad and euphemisms?

First we had Ilhan Omar, and her “Some people did something.”

Then we had Rashida Tlaib and her Holocaust “calming feeling.”

Now Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has added her own.

You talk about cancel culture. But notice that those discussions only go one way. We don’t talk about all the people who were fired. You just kind of talk about, like, right-leaning podcast bros and more conservative figures. But, for example, Marc Lamont Hill was fired [from CNN] for discussing an issue with respect to Palestinians, pretty summarily. There was no discussion about it, no engagement, no thoughtful discourse over it, just pure accusation.

One person’s calling for the elimination of an entire country is another person’s “discussing an issue,” I guess.

Come to think of it, the name “The Squad” is itself a euphemism – for the Hamas caucus in Congress.

Meanwhile, this is the same person who withdrew from an Americans for Peace Now commemoration event honoring late Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Rabin on the 25th anniversary of his assassination, after she almost found herself cancelled by Israel-haters. All she had to say for it was “This event and my involvement was presented to my team differently from how it’s now being promoted,” and then declined to comment on it. So much for that much vaunted discussion, engagement, and thoughtful discourse.

She really should stick to admitting she is no expert on geo-politics on this issue. And farting cows.
