Yesterday I posted how Squad member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defended antisemite Marc Lamont Hill’s call to “Free Palestine from the river to the sea”, euphemistically painting it as “discussing an issue with respect to Palestinians,” rather than the call to eliminate an entire country that it is.
But it seems this was not Ocasio-Cortez’s only vile comment with respect to Israel this week.
At an Austin Democratic Socialists of America event on Sunday promoting the Green New Deal, AOC found herself heckled by Israel-haters, presumably because she supports progressive congressional candidate Greg Casa, who himself wrote that he supports “continued federal aid for the self-defense of Israel” and opposes the BDS movement. AOC responded by speaking about her support for human rights for palestinians, including this doozy of an insinuation:
It seems pretty clear what AOC was claiming. She referred to palestinian kids in the “West Bank”, not Gaza, so she cannot claim she was speaking metaphorically, using the often used offensive symbolism of an open-air prison.
Ocasio-Cortez’s office did not respond when asked on Monday to provide examples of children being imprisoned in cages in the West Bank.
AOC’s ignorance is truly astounding, but she won’t let it get in the way of demonizing Israel. Laughably, she later stated in the same speech:
We need to educate people on what’s going on because a lot of us didn’t grow up in households where the issue is discussed.
No AOC. You need to first educate yourself, and by education I mean a real examination of the facts, and not brainwashing-by-besties Ilhan and Rashida.
