University of Melbourne Student Union President Sophie Nguyen is absolutely disgusted following the union’s passing of their terror-supporting, antisemitic motion.
But not with the motion (heck, she personally supported it). Rather, the negative reactions to it.
Note how she acknowledges people were hurt over her faction’s vote on the first antisemitic motion earlier this year – which rescinded the motion following the threat of being sued – but just registers disgust over the reaction of Jews hurt over this new motion being passed.
Nguyen follows this up with some empty words about being against antisemitism, yet sees nothing wrong with passing a motion completely denying and revising Jewish history and our deep connection to our land, while supporting the right of the colonialist palestinian Arabs to butcher us under the pretense of “self-defense.”
I would just love to know what “Jewish voices” were included and considered in this process. I suspect the “right” kinds as far as Nguyen and her fellow Israel-haters are concerned.
Sophie Nguyen, you should be disgusted – with yourself and all the others who supported the motion, stabbing Jewish students in the back.
