Yesterday, Piers Morgan tweeted the following teaser for an interview he had conducted with Kanye West, promising that the antisemitic rapper had made a “full apology.”
Here’s what went down.

before issuing a non-apology for causing hurt with his Defcon 3 words and not expressing himself the right way, while making it about himself
I will say I’m sorry for the people that I hurt with the Defcon [comment], the confusion that I caused. I felt like I caused hurt and confusion. And I’m sorry for the families of the people that had nothing to do with the trauma that I have been through.
followed by Morgan going overboard in praising this non-apology, while effectively giving him a “get out of jail free card”:
That shows you’ve got that ability to be self-aware, to understand when you cross a line. I think someone like you with all your energy and creativity and your passion. You’re gonna say stuff. The way you talk constantly in such an extraordinary manner, you’re gonna trip up, you’re gonna say things the wrong way.
and then West criticizing the fact he was being asked to apologize, saying “It’s wrong to hold an apology hostage”- before reverting to making it all about himself and his “trauma” again.
Not only that, but West did not relate to his other antisemitic comments beyond the ‘Defcon 3’, such as all the vile comments he made during the recent Drinking Champs interview.
After a brief introduction, West immediately went into a diatribe about “the Jewish people,” arguing that he’s not an anti-Semite because he’s also a Jew “as the blood of Christ.” However, he then went on a rant about how the Jewish people control all facets of media and entertainment, even blaming “Jewish Zionists” for recent news stories about how his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson (who Kanye called “a heroin addict”) have sex in front of a fireplace.
“Jewish people have owned the Black voice,” West said. “Either it’s through us wearing the Ralph Lauren shirt, or it’s all of us being signed to a record label, or having a Jewish manager, or being signed to a Jewish basketball team, or doing a movie on a Jewish platform like Disney..

West also complained about how Dov Charney — the (Jewish) Los Angeles Apparel founder who printed Kanye’s controversial White Lives Matter Shirts — refused to release the shirts after West’s “Death con 3 on Jewish People” tweet; Charney encouraged West to visit the Holocaust Museum, to which West told him to visit Planned Parenthood, “our Holocaust Museum.”
West claimed that he had four concerts planned for Los Angeles So-Fi Stadium, but the bookings were canceled by the stadium owners following his Death Con 3 tweet. “They been fucking with me for too long,” West said. “They put the crazy narrative out there.”
“Paparazzi taking a photo of you, you ain’t getting no money off of it. You’re used to getting screwed by the Jewish media,” West added. “And I’m saying, you poked the bear too fucking long.”

He then wondered if N.O.R.E. would even run the Drink Champs episode, as West’s appearance on The Shop was withheld from broadcast over what statements he said on that show. “They blocked me out. The Jewish media blocked me out,” West said. “I’m lit. J.P. Morgan, I put a $140 million in J.P. Morgan, and they treated me like shit. So if J.P. Morgan Chase is treating me like that, how they treating the rest of y’all?”
Later in the conversation, West explained his “Death Con 3” tweet — and acknowledged that it’s supposed to be Defcon, “I spelled it wrong, I have a tendency to do that” — by saying that “Defcon is actually that you’re preparing to protect yourself.” “Once they cancel four So-Fi Stadiums because of what’s classified as wrong-think… because it’s very important to have the black vote in groupthink, and not separate from the thought and being completely in line with the Left, the Jewish media and the Chinese.”

West said his provoking of the media is perhaps connected to a 2024 presidential run. “The only possible way that I’m gonna win is, early on, call out the Jewish media, because they’ll play nice with you.”
Reading between the lines, it seems West’s non-apology was actually regarding his misspelling “Defcon 3” as “Death Con 3” and the resultant confusion and hurt from what looked to many like a death threat. As for all his other antisemitic comments and views, he stands by them.
If anything, this Piers Morgan interview with West shows me the depth of the latter’s antisemitism – and the willingness of some in the media to exonerate him, despite claiming to be disgusted by it.
