Anti-Zionist-Not Antisemite of the Day: Nazih Khatatba (Canada)

Meet Nazih Khatatba.

The editor of Meshwar Newspaper, Khatatba has published many vile, anti-Israel things like:

  • Claiming the Mossad committed the Munich massacre
  • Mourning an arch-terrorist from the outlawed Popular Front For The Liberation of Palestine (PFLP)
  • Glorifying palestinian Arab suicide bombers
  • Praising a massacre of a Jerusalem-area synagogue where four rabbis and a police officer were murdered

Alas, it would seem Nazih Khatatba is appropriately named, because he is an outright Jew hater.

Meshwar’s Editor uttered the antisemitic dual loyalties slur when he accused Jews of being more loyal to Israel, or to the alleged priorities of Jewish people worldwide, than to the interests of their own nations. In the same month, Meshwar published a cartoon depicting Jews as greedy and cheap. In January, Meshwar published a column calling for Israel’s destruction.

In 2015, Meshwar compared Israeli leaders to neo-Nazis and said that the Zionist-Masonic movement is behind ISIS. Also that same year, our organization took Meshwar to task for labelling Judaism as a terrorist religion and saying that killing is ingrained in the Jewish faith.

In 2014, Meshwar Editor Khatatba denied that the Holocaust necessarily took place. “Why the Palestinian, any Palestinian, has to announce his ‘belief’ in the Holocaust of the Jews, and why should we accept it as truth,” Khatatba wrote at the time.

In 2012, Meshwar published an antisemitic cartoon depicting Israelis eating Palestinian children and drinking their blood.

On October 23, Khatatba posted a video to Facebook which promoted the lie that Jews are plotting an international conspiracy of world domination, and which included a clip of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler as proof of this claim.

This is too much even for some of his comrades, who are throwing him under the bus after he was spotted at one of their events also attended by many Canadian MPs:

Transport Minister Omar Alghabraand several other MPs have issued statements after going to a reception in Parliament attended by the editor of a publication that has called the Holocaust a hoax and referred to Judaism as a terrorist religion.

The Tuesday reception was held by the Canada-Palestine Parliamentary Friendship Group, which is chaired by Liberal MP Salma Zahid. She said in a statement on Thursday that the editor, Nazih Khatatba, should not have been allowed to attend the event on Parliament Hill.

In his own statement on Thursday, Mr. Alghabra also said Mr. Khatatba should not have been invited.

“What this individual said is offensive and antisemitic and must be condemned,” he said. “Antisemitism is real and I will continue to call it out whenever I see it.” The Minister’s spokeswoman, Nadine Ramadan, said he did not meet Mr. Khatatba at the reception.

Ms. Zahid said the friendship group did not invite Mr. Khatatba, and that he and around 120 other people were added to the guest list by the Coalition of Canadian Palestinian Organizations.

“The invitation was circulated widely in the local Palestinian community, and nearly 150 people attended. We are not able to research the history of every attendee that responded,” she said.

Of course, he denies being antisemitic, despite the preponderance of evidence:

Nazih, give it up – both your ridiculous denials, as well as the “h” in your first name.

Oh, and thanks for playing anti-Zionist-Not-Antisemite. Unfortunately
