Can you imagine people being so cheap, they would leave their child at check-in so as to not have to buy a ticket for it?
The Daily Mail would have you believe this happened – and judging by the share photo, would you have you believe they were you-know-whos.
If you actually read their report on the incident, you will learn a number of important things:
- The couple were Belgian, not Israeli, so it is not clear what their religion was (not that this is even relevant)
- Their act may not even be related to avoiding paying for an extra ticket; According to the Israel Airports Authority, the couple arrived late to Terminal 1 after the check-in counter was closed. They wanted to go through to deal with security and simply left their baby on the conveyor belt at the area (not that this also isn’t disgraceful).
At a time when antisemitic attitudes and acts are on the rise, the Daily Mail are, at best, grossly irresponsible and, at worst, deliberately fanning the flames of hatred.
