Australia Palestine Advocacy Network Implores Supporters To Bombard Media With Their Pro-Hamas Talking Points

The Australia Palestine Advocacy Network (APAN) has sent the following email to its mailing list, advising its followers and supporters to engage with the media every day:

Subject: Dave – please engage with the media as much as you can

Dear Dave

As the horror in Gaza and throughout Palestine unfolds, we need to do all we can.

One practical thing we can do every day is to engage with all the media reports about Palestine.

As those most engaged with media and Palestine, can you set aside a small part of each day to engage with the media?

This can include letters to the editor to your nearest major newspaper.  It can also involve calling in to talk-back radio. And commenting on media reports posted online, outlets are increasingly putting stories on their social media too.

Possible talking points:

  • This wasn’t ‘started’ by Hamas. This is a result of 75 years of Israeli oppression of Palestinians, escalated since the election of the far-right Netanyahu Government last year;
  • Israel and Egypt have held the people of Gaza in an open air prison for 16 years, with an inhumane and illegal siege;
  • Israel’s bombing in Gaza must be condemned, particularly attacks on civilian infrastructure (you can cite the UN Secretary General statement);
  • Netanyahu’s announcement overnight to cut off food, water and electricity supplies from Gaza is a horrific promise of brutal collective punishment;
  • Israel is already before the International Criminal Court for its previous attacks on Palestinians, the international community must act to protect Palestinians.
  • The West’s double-standard in dealing with Israel and Palestine (see Crikey article here)

Lets do all we can in this moment – Palestinians bearing the brunt of these Israeli assaults need our solidarity.

In solidarity,

Jessica

Note how they justify Hamas’ massacre, rape and abduction of innocents as the “result of 75 years of Israeli oppression of Palestinians.” And do not let the fact they speak of 75 years and not 56 years since Israel reliberated territories in the 1967 War go past you – they fully support the destruction of the entire Jewish state of Israel, and not just so-called “occuppied” territories.

Of course, this is not surprising. Their press release following the Hamas massacre also justified it:

Yesterday, on the 7th of October, Palestinians held captive for the past 16 years in Gaza, in what former British Prime Minister David Cameron described as “the world’s largest open air prison” have broken through the walls that have kept them isolated from the rest of the world for a generation.

Despite Israeli state and settler attacks against Palestinians escalating since the election of the current Israeli government, Israeli colonial violence has been a constant to Palestinians since the Nakba and the creation of the state of Israel.

“Occupation is violence. Israel hasn’t been defending itself, it’s been waging war on Palestinians, each and every day for decades” said Nasser Mashni, President of the Australia Palestine Advocacy Network.

“The events of this week are a clear result of Israeli escalation – Israeli forces, including rampaging settlers, have killed Palestinians each and every day this year, just this week Israelis have invaded the most holy sites in Jerusalem; mobs of settlers have attacked Palestinian towns killing Palestinians while Israeli soldiers watch on. And this is on top of a 16 year illegal and inhumane siege on Gaza and 75 years of denial of Palestinian freedom, right of return and self determination” added Nasser Mashni.

Western leaders from Biden, Sunak, Trudeau to our own Prime Minister, have provided a textbook response as they rushed to affirm their support for “Israel’s right to defend itself”, ignoring all of the injustices perpetrated against the Palestinians, for the last week, the last year and the last 75 years. The glaring hypocrisy and double standard applied by the Western media and politicians who celebrate the heroism of the Ukrainian resistance against Russia yet condemns the Palestinians for using the same tactics – is why we’re here today.

And these are the same ghouls behind the recent pro-terror protests in Sydney.
