“Miss Palestine” Nadeen Ayoub recently appeared on a podcast for Middle East Eye, and – if I thought she came across as a deluded liar beforehand (I did) – you need to get a load of this.
Remember how she claimed she was robbed of her rightful crown as winner of the Most Beautiful People category? Now she is insinuating that she might have done better in the main competition if not for you-know-who!
In the same interview, Nadeen Ayoub alleges a conspiracy of rigged voting and even implies she did not do better because there was an Israeli judge! https://t.co/VsyFiVLArh pic.twitter.com/ocDmetveuC

And all those people who questioned how Nadeen Ayoub could represent the non-country “Palestine”, given she is not from there? Just doing so because she is so damn beautiful and defeats the “unfair” stereotype of palestinian Arabs as violent and “victims”.
In a recent interview with @MiddleEastEye, Miss Palestine Nadeen Ayoub claimed she was called American, Italian, and Egyptian instead of Palestinian, because she is really beautiful and does not fit the image others try to pin on to Palestinians. I kid you not. Wait til the end. pic.twitter.com/gy6iMwv2BW

And it gets even better. When addressing the side-eye controversy, Ayoub first denied having posted the video, but then corrected herself, perhaps realizing that it was probably not wise to lie about something so disprovable. She then claimed she was dragged in to the controversy by Miss Israel Melanie Shiraz, even though she had posted the doctored video on social media. Furthermore, she claims the video was authentic when it clearly isn’t and was not televised on (inter)national TV as she claims. She then implies that Miss Israel might have side-eyed her, even though she also admits she was standing behind her (how does one side-eye someone in front of them and not to the side?)
Ayoub also addressed the side eye controversy, first claiming she did not post the video, before correcting herself. She also claims the video was real and not AI, (a blatant, provable lie) – before suggesting Miss Israel may have been side-eyeing her after all. https://t.co/kBGt4uXYl6 pic.twitter.com/dlY2nmc3Dz

There’s more cringe in her interview, including defending her former father-in-law Marwan Barghouti as a peaceful guy who is not a terrorist. Melanie Shiraz herself has already addressed such a ridiculous assertion here.
So let’s recap: a contestant representing a non-country, crying sabotage by Jews, rewriting basic physics, gaslighting on video evidence, and whitewashing an actual terrorist as a “peaceful guy” – all while insisting she’s the real victim here.
At some point it stops being a beauty pageant controversy and starts looking like a full-blown audition for the Oppression Olympics.
