You’ve probably seen the footage already, since it has gone viral: comedian Jerry Seinfeld clapping back against an Israel-hater farming for click-bait:
New Yorker: "What's up, Seinfeld? Can we get a 'Free Palestine?'"
— TheBlaze (@theblaze) June 11, 2026
Seinfeld: "It doesn't exist." pic.twitter.com/Fnc9kvQbtw
Many have condemned Jerry for this, including Rep. Ilhan Omar, who was approached by TMZ for comment:
Rep. Ilhan Omar torches Jerry Seinfeld over "disturbing" Palestine remarks.

It’s almost as if Ilhan Omar has come down harder on Jerry Seinfeld than she has actual terrorists.
Characterizing Jerry Seinfeld’s statement as dangerous is gaslighting of the highest order. He was stating a mere fact at someone trying to provoke him. And contrary to Ilhan Omar’s claim, he never said that”palestinians” do not exist. He said “Palestine” does not exist. That is correct. There is no state of Palestine, nor has there ever been. Surely Ilan Omar agrees there is no state of Palestine; otherwise why would she be “fighting for Palestinian statehood”?
Believing in a two state solution means actually fighting for Palestinian statehood.

Just repeating the words “two-state solution” without any action and accountability doesn’t cut it. https://t.co/Bf1nEXrs6N
Do you know what is dangerous, though?
- Approaching a Jewish person and asking them to say “Free Palestine”, since it blames all Jews for perceived actions of Israel.
- Stating, as Ilhan Omar does, that Israel has committed genocide. This is a blood libel that causes more people to intimidate, harass, and even perpetrate violence against Jews and all supporters of Israel
- Comparing, as Ilhan Omar does, Israel’s defensive actions in Gaza with the Holocaust. Besides contravening the IHRA working definition of antisemitism, it minimizes the Holocaust while exaggerating what has happened in Gaza.
- Stating, as Ilhan Omar has, that Israel has hypnotized the world, that Jews are Islamophobic, that it’s all about the Benjamins, as well as using the dual loyalty canard. These all serve to promote more hatred towards Jews.
The real danger is not a comedian refusing to play along with a click-baiter’s stunt. The real danger is the normalization of rhetoric that demonizes Jews, delegitimizes their state, and fuels hostility against them around the world.
If Ilhan Omar is genuinely concerned about dangerous speech, she might want to start by shutting her piehole.
