Once upon a time there was a Jewish actor called Adam Brody. His most prominent and memorable roles were as Jews, including as a Rabbi in Netflix show Nobody Wants This.
To quote Uncle Ben, with great power comes great responsibility. That is true for any celebrity, but especially one representing the Jewish people and, presumably, one who is a source of pride for many of his fellow Jews (at least those ok with the idea of a Rabbi sleeping with someone outside of marriage and not of the faith).
But try telling that to Adam Brody.
He recently came out of the closet – the Israel-hating one that is.
A defining voter concern in the Democratic primaries has been candidates’ stance on Israel-Gaza, as you mentioned. How is that coming up in your messaging?
Truthfully, it hasn’t. I have spoken a lot about it privately. I haven’t spoken much about it publicly.
Would you care to speak about it publicly?
Put me down as thinking it’s a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine. It’s awful that it’s taken so much death and misery, but it does feel like it’s reaching a breaking point that it should have a while ago. I’m hopeful that another administration can really do some good and correct some of these policies that are helping that situation be as awful as it is.

Yet here he is, capitulating, while exacerbating antisemitism in the process. And for what?
I cannot help but think he believes it is what will make him more “acceptable” to the woke Red-Green alliance mob. He has probably seen what happens to those celebrities who stand up for actual truth and justice (aka supporting Israel). They are invariably threatened, harassed and cancelled.
Granted, he could have just kept his piehole shut. Perhaps he thought bowing to the crowd would make him more hip and trendy.
Or perhaps he was hanging around Seth Rogen too much.

It certainly cannot be because he was hanging around Nobody Wants This creators Erin Foster and Sara Foster, or co-stars Tovia Feldshuh and Jackie Tohn.
And it surely cannot be because he has educated himself. Had he done that, he would discover rather easily that there is no genocide in Gaza – only the one Hamas attempted on October 7.
Season 3 of Nobody Wants This premieres October 22. After Brody’s comments, the title reads less like a show and more like a response to him.
