Back in 2023, I covered the Jew-hatred of palestinian Arab-American writer Susan Abulhawa, whose appearance at the Adelaide Festival generated a lot of controversy, and even led to major Festival sponsors withdrawing. Abulhawa herself was triggered by at least one of my posts exposing her antisemitism.
Despite her own hateful rhetoric, Abulhawa later complained about some mail she supposedly received, which threatened her life:

The chutzpah of this vile woman – who has supported October 7 amongst other things – was again highlighted this week, with this horrendous tweet about Alex Karp, the Jewish CEO of Palantir Technologies:

and then doubling down on it:

And in case anyone’s holding out hope that this kind of rhetoric might finally cost her something: it hasn’t, and it probably won’t. Susan Abulhawa is still platformed by literary festivals, universities, and cultural organizations, including the prestigious Oxford Union (which she is currently suing because it removed about two minutes from her speech before uploading it to YouTube, including claims about “booby-trapped toys” and “systematic rape”).
At some point, those who keep inviting her must accept responsibility for legitimizing this kind of hate.
