The funny folk of Latma have taken a stab at parodying an 80′s classic.
And it has already moved to number 20 on the music charts, with a bullet.

I am proud (and a bit embarrassed) to say I am one of the first people to see it, when it was first uploaded. I'll have to tune out the female solos. But I'm singing it all over the house!
BTW, some of the staff at LATMA are in it, including the editor, Madame V's favorite columnist, Caroline Glick. There are three versions, all in English – one with English titles, one with Hebrew titles, and one as part of their regular (Hebrew) broadcast. The latter has a great beginning where the anchorette is forced ,kicking and screaming, to utter the forbidden words: Israel is right. Now if we could get Obama to say them….

It's getting there. Even a virus takes time to multiply. I'm doing my part and sending to everyone I know. It's more than propaganda, it's good music, too. A beautiful way to get the message across. Glick should be Israel's media spokesperson.

BTW, looking through the comments in the National Review site, I found another person who'd been fed that line about Judaism not believing in an afterlife. I told him his religion was invented in the 19th century. Where do people get this garbage?
Thanks for the link. I did find one occurring on Sunday, but theres only a few dozen people registered as attending (the other side can just walk into a mosque and get 100 volunteers *sigh*). I may/may not go. If I can find friends to go with me, Im more likely to go. So far 1 said he has work.

Other than that, Ive read that the Tanakh is unclear about what, if anything, the afterlife is. Unfortunately Ive yet to read it in full.

Yes, the Tanakh is unclear, but you may note that the main topic in the Tanach is reward and punishment. (Then Idolotry, then maybe social justice).
But I am not talking about the Saducees or the Karaites. I am referring to the Rabbinical tradition, in which such concepts as Heaven (Gan Eden / Olam Habah), Hell and Purguratory (both beferred to as Gey Hinnom), and the resurrection are ehavily mentioned. you can also find this in Josephus. The good are rewarded; the evil are punished; the medium undergo initial punishment and then reward.
There is no required belief as to the details. The basic breakdown is between Maimonides, to whom the future world is temporary, and the main reward and punishment is for the soul, and Nachmanides, for whom "up there" is just a holding area, and the the main reward / punishement is in the future, in a sort of heaven-on-earth. (Actually, I'm not clear on the second opinion.)
But that the whole point of this world is to earn the next, is the basis of rabbinical Judaism, which is basically all the Judaism that there is today. To put it another way, God created this world to keep us off welfare. (Seriously.) Otherwise there really would be no justice, and that contradicts the main point of the Bible. (For Hell, see the last verse of Malachi, read the Sabbath before Passover. Also see Daniel. But there is nothing clear in the Bible.)
It is clear to me that the Christians took this from us, with perhaps some Greek philosophy thrown in. But what you descibe sounds like the Greek underworld.

Who is Latma exactly? Im guessing some parody group, but Ive never heard of them.
Dave has posted them several times, usually doing singing numbers. It is right-wing group that does several things, but they also produce a weekly satirical news program. Some of them have English sub-titles. A number of the parts, like this song, are taken out of the program and made into separate shows. Dave has featured them several times, such as the Goldstone interview, and the "Abba" concert. I just got into it, and I caught this near when it was uploaded.
The editor-in-chief is Caroline Glick, JPost columnist (lady on the right in the group scene), and the sub-titles are done by their former features editor. I like the Right-wingers Anonymous and Yerushlaim Shel Zahav parodies.

While we're having a private converstation, I noticed that the Wikipedia opening on the incident is not very friendly. Also, the reaction section needs pro-Israel reacation. I am glad We Con The World video is on this website. It was recommended to me by my Messianic Rabbi. I initially went to Yahoo search to look for it but every link I tried didn’t work. So I thought I try Google search and that’s how I fould this website. I applaud Latima TV for responding to the Gaza fotilla by satire. It was disturbing to see the clips of the Hate Boat. To see Israeli soldiers attacked. Those of us with discernment know what is behind it is that it is a spiritual war between the god of Islam and the God of Israel manifesting in the natural.
