As reports come in that Israel carried out a strike on a Syrian air base, a number of mainstream media outlets chose to accompany their reports of the attack with images of some young victims of Assad’s suspected poison gas attack on Douma.

As you can see, most subsequently changed the image (presumably after complaints were received). But the troubling fact remains that so many mainsteam media outlets felt it was a good idea to use such images to accompany the story to begin with.
