Austrian politician Joerg Haider, whose far-right rhetoric in the 1990s was denounced as sympathetic to the Nazis, died early Saturday in a car accident.
Haider, 58, the governor of the southern province of Carinthia, had been making a return to national politics with a more moderate line, almost a decade after his party’s inclusion in the Austrian government led to European Union sanctions.
Haider’s car veered off the road in southern Austria after overtaking another vehicle, and overturned, police said. He was alone in the car.
Haider suffered severe injuries to his head and chest despite wearing a seatbelt. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, said Thomas Koperna, the hospital’s medical director.
Despite there being no signs of foul play, the usual suspects are blaming you-know-who. Here are some of the comments I came upon while wading through the excrement at one of the more well-known hate sites:
The suspicious thing is, that there was a second car with 2 unknown persons, who reported the crash immediately. They don’t reveal who these 2 are.
It was early morning, a time when there is no traffic at all on these remote Alp highways.
So i have to ask myself, why was there another car and who were they?
And if you think the levels of moronity had been plumbed with that comment, a new contender emerges:
Haider was most likely killed by an electromagnetic weapon which incapacitated him before a curve. This could have been in a van following him, or in the forest ahead in line with the road. I doubt the Mossad would try to tamper with his steering while parked, too many electronic security systems available today.
