The sun is shining. It has been warm in Jerusalem, Israel this week. this was the scene as I waited to cross a main street near the Central Bus Station,
an Arab girl wearing jeans with her young male companion, standing between a religious Jewish man and an Israeli soldier. Just another every day Israel Apartheid street scene photo.
Then I saw this shared on Facebook – it had to be the Photo of the Day.
John Baird
In Davos for the World Economic Forum. Just came across these guys…
Everyday I become more of a John Baird fan. Someone had a ball doing these snowmen, sure hope they do not get into as much trouble as Miss Lebanon for her photo bomb.
Why is one of these snowmen bearing the design of a Muslim country? A Saudi imam issued a fatwa against building snowmen, calling them un-Islamic.
Fortunately, neither Azerbaijan nor Turkmenistan are hostile to Israel.
So true, forgot about that when I wrote this, hope those guys do not get you too excited! Brian quoted the fatwa here: http://www.israellycool.com/2015/01/13/my-kids-are-blasphemers/
Snowman Azerbaijan has put the following statement on his instagram:
Throughout the course of the Davos conference I have tried repeatedly to avoid a photo with Snowman Israel, who tried several times to have a photo with me. While I was trying to have a photo with Snowman Canada and Snowman Sudan, Snowman Israel just jumped in and took this selfie and posted it on his social media.
Good one
I can’t see as much in the picture as you did. Looks like a religious Muslim womb or girl, or am I misreading the head covering? (In Israel, as a place with leftover Turkish influence, traditional Muslim worn and girls do wear jeans.)
