In what is going to upset fans of artists Lizzie “Get thee to a” Nunnery, James “No relation to Pink” Floyd , and Kadija “Not Boy” George, these “artists” and more have signed a boycott Israel letter.
Along with more than 600 other fellow artists, we are announcing today that we will not engage in business-as-usual cultural relations with Israel. We will accept neither professional invitations to Israel, nor funding, from any institutions linked to its government.
To call them “D-listers” might be promoting them in the alphabet. Besides Roger Waters, Brian Eno, Alexei Sayle, Miriam Margolyes, Caryl Churchill, Ken Loach, and Richard Ashcroft, I do not recognize any of the names, and suspect neither “professional invitations to Israel, nor funding” were forthcoming anyway.
So, yeah, self-important Israel-hating nobodies. Boycott away! It might just be the only way to get your names in print.
