The Bizarro World Of The US State Department

With President Obama taking his time to congratulate Binyamin Netanyahu on his election victory, the State Department has wasted no time extending condolences to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on the death of his mother.

On the Passing of President Rouhani’s Mother

Press Statement

John Kerry

Secretary of State

Washington, DC

March 20, 2015

We extend our deepest condolences to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Hassan Rouhani and his family on the passing of his mother, Mrs. Sakineh Peivandi. Such a loss is especially hard coming on the eve of Nowruz, traditionally a time when families gather together in joy and hope. We share in his grief and that of his brother, Presidential Special Advisor Hossein Fereydoun, who has been participating in the talks in Lausanne, and we keep their family in our thoughts.

In case you are wondering, the State Department did not extend condolences to Prime Minister Netanyahu on the death of his father Benzion almost three years ago.

On behalf of Israellycool, I would like to extend my condolences to the US State Department for the complete loss of their testicles.

And their soon to be chapped lips from all of that a** kissing.

Update: Jim points out that Obama called Netanyahu to extend condolences over his father’s passing.

Kerry’s daughter is married to an Iranian-American who still has family in the Old Country. Does that explain his groveling?

  2. President Obama called Prime Minister Netanyahu personally to express his condolences upon the passing of Benzion Netanyahu.

  3. Even the Associated Press reporter covering State couldn’t believe the over the top nature of the condolences. His question about also sending flowers made me laugh.

And speaking of State, everyone’s favorite Deputy Spokeswoman (who has been curiously absent since her infamous jobs for jihadis line) finally resurfaced at a conference earlier this month. Of course, she blamed the backlash on sexism.

    1. What’s to reevaluate? We don’t have diplomatic relations with Iran. We have imposed economic sanctions on them. We don’t provide diplomatic support for Iranian initiatives or try to block those opposing Iranian actions at the United Nations. I suppose we could reevaluate whether we are going to start dropping bombs on Iran, but that seems more like something Senator Tom Cotton (R -AR) would do and not President Obama.

      1. Barney Sternfield

Tom Cotton did two tours of duty in the area and Obama did…….
But lets a face the bigger reality that Iran regularly calls for the destruction of Israel, arms Hezbullah, tries to arm Hamas whenever
possible, oppresses it’s Kurdish minority, it hangs Bahaiis and Homosexuals in the street, and many other degenerate things that I won’t list because it would takes me hours, Why would any sane person want to negotiate with such a regeime and who would honestly think that any agreement would be worth the paper it’s signed on. In a twisted way Obama is bringing Arabs and Israelis together because the Gulf countries agree with Netanyahu’s analysis.

      2. What’s to reevaluate? The current policy of allowing them back into the community of nations, removing sanctions, etc.? Not just for this, but for Iran’s continued support of terrorism and contributing to the regional instability from Iraq to Syria to Lebanon and now Yemen.

I was highlighting this specific point just to show Obama’s hypocrisy and the ridiculousness with which he is treating Bibi. I think it is clear to any honest observer that Obama was just looking for something- anything- to jump all over Bibi about after he had the audacity to defy Obama and dared to win reelection.
