In a visit that has been gaining much publicity, a group of NFL players will arrive in Israel next week as part of a campaign to showcase the country’s “true face” to the world.
As per the numerous reports on this, the players were to be: Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett, Martellus Bennett, Delanie Walker, Michael Kendricks, Cameron Jordan, Kenny Stills, Calais Campbell, Carlos Hyde, Dan Williams, Justin Forsett, and ESPN commentator and former linebacker Kirk Morrison.
That was the understanding until today, when Michael Bennett tweeted this:
The implication from the photo of Martin Luther King is he is now refusing to come to Israel, as some kind of stand for civil rights.
Bennett is acting more like Martin Luther than Martin Luther King.
He clearly needs to read up on his history of MLK – and of this conflict for that matter.
How appropriate this is his number.
