When Mainstream Media And UNRWA Yawn At Killing Of Two Young Palestinians

Ma’an reports that two palestinians were killed today – a 12-year-old boy and 18-year-old youth. Yet the mainstream media seems to have gone all Clark Gable on the story.

Which sounds weird until you realize Israel was not at all involved.

An 18-year-old Palestinian was pronounced dead Tuesday afternoon after a 12-year-old boy succumbed to injuries earlier that morning, while at least four others have been injured — including a pregnant woman — amid armed clashes between Fatah members and Islamic factions in the Palestinian refugee camp Ain al-Hilweh in Lebanon, which began overnight Monday night and continued into Tuesday afternoon.

Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported after 4 p.m. Tuesday that a ceasefire agreement was brokered during a meeting between PLO factions and nationalist and Islamist forces at the Palestine Embassy.

However, shortly after the ceasefire was declared, NNA reported that a pregnant woman, identified as Mariam Aweid, was wounded as a result of the clashes, raising the casualty toll to one dead and three wounded over the course of the day, in addition to one dead and one wounded in the early morning.

As of the time of this post, Google News reveals the mainstream media is ignoring this. AFP and Reuters do report on the clashes- but don’t mention these two young casualties.

Interestingly enough, only Israeli sites Jerusalem Post and i24 News (as well as one other obscure site) mention the child being killed.

As for UNRWA, they have condemned the clashes but also do not mention the deaths of the young. And as far as I can tell, Chris Gunness has not shed any tears.

Once again, the mainstream media and so-called human rights organizations show their real agenda.
