Following Tuesday’s vehicle terror attack in Manhattan, many in the mainstream media have come out with timelines of world vehicle attacks, almost all of which completely omit those occurring in Israel.
For example:
The Huffington Post has released a video on The Rise Of Vehicle Terror Attacks, going back to July 2016. Noticeably missing is the truck ramming attack in Jerusalem from January this year, which resulted in the deaths of 4 young Israelis (and also a less deadly one from September 2016).
ABC News has review of “the last eight vehicle-related attacks, which took place in the past 16 months.” Same deal.
Even Fox News gets in on the act, although they specifically limit it to the US and Europe for some reason.
USA Today goes all the way back to 2014, ignoring all of the numerous attacks in Israel over that period of time. They even ask Why is This Happening. I’ll tell you a reason why. Because when these attacks originated in Israel back in 2008, the international community did not blink an eyelid. Then Al Qaeda co-opted the idea from their palestinian brothers, followed by ISIS some time later. It is the plane hijacking all over again. Had the world supported Israel in the fight on terror, perhaps these attacks would not have taken off as they have.
I will point out that Canada seems to have more honest media outlets when it comes to reporting these attacks. The Toronto Star does actually list the January 2017 Jerusalem attack, while Global News lists one in Jerusalem from October 2014.
