Over a week ago,I posted about the palestinian “ambassador” to Pakistan, Walid Abu Ali, who shared a stage with terrorist Hafiz Saeed, drawing the ire of India. In order to placate India, the palestinians recalled him, stating
“We are supporting India in its fight against terrorism and because of that my government decided to directly call our Ambassador to go back home, not to be Palestine ambassador to Pakistan anymore.”
Well, it looks like the palestinian desire to support India in its fight against terrorism is about as sincere as their desire to fight terrorism at all.
Palestine on Sunday reinstated its ambassador to Pakistan Walid Abu Ali after days of his sacking for sharing a dais with UN-designated terrorist and the mastermind of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack Hafiz Saeed. Maulana Tahir Ashrafi, Chairman of Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) said the body requested the foreign minister and the chief justice to reinstate Ali “in view of the ambassador’s services rendered to Pakistan.” Pakistan based Geo News reported that ambassador will resume his duties on Wednesday.
It looks like their decision to recall him was about as reliable as all those “resignations” of palestinian leaders.
Meanwhile, I now see that the palestinians had originally tried to distance their “ambassador” from Saeed, by trying to throw Saeed under the bus:
Palestine’s Ambassador to India Adnan Abu Al Haija said that the ambassador did not meet Saeed personally. He had gone to Rawalpindi to attend the event which was organised to further the voices of Palestine’s people. “Our Ambassador doesn’t know this person. When he starts speaking, he asks who is this person? Our Ambassador’s speech was after him, he made his speech & left. For us, even with that, it is not accepted and a decision has been taken,” ANI quoted Hajia as saying.
I’ll let you decide from the photos whether to believe them or treat this excuse as you should everything that comes out of their mouths.
Here’s hoping India reacts strongly to this.
