Today, my peaceful time lying on a beach in Tahiti (or whatever it was I was dreaming about at the time) was interrupted by some of my children.
Abba, get up. We need to get to the bomb shelter.
As I slowly opened my eyes, I heard the unmistakable sound of a siren – and it wasn’t the same one we heard just a few days ago on Holocaust Remembrance Day to signify a two minute’s silence for those who perished.
Still disoriented, I made my way to our downstairs bomb shelter, which we use as a storage room because thankfully we have not had to use it much for this other, more sobering purpose.
A few minutes later and we returned to our normal activities. But for so many of my brethren in the South, this was a constant refrain all day.

All-in-all, terrorists have fired over 250 rockets at Israel today, striking several homes and leaving one elderly woman severely wounded by shrapnel. This is supposedly “retaliation” for our bombing of a Hamas post, killing several terrorists, which followed terrorists shooting two of our soldiers last night. Although I suspect they are doing this to disrupt Eurovision, which starts in 10 days. The fact Ramadan starts tomorrow is also probably not a coincidence.
Although do these terrorists really need much of a motivation beyond the mouth-watering prospect of killing or maiming some Jews?
As I write this post, we have struck over 120 terror targets in Gaza. Here’s hoping we don’t agree to yet another fake “ceasefire”, which only serves the purpose of providing time for Gazan terror groups to replenish and start up with us again in the near future.
