Last Thursday, American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) and others staged a protest called AIPAC is Not Welcome in Chicago, outside Chicago’s Hyatt Regency. AMP posted on Facebook footage of some of the speeches, with one part standing out for me.
The image of Jews consuming something that looks like blood reeks of the ‘blood libel’ antisemitic canard, in which Jews were accused of murdering Christian children in order to use their blood as part of religious rituals. The blood libel and versions of it have been leveled against Jews throughout the ages, whether it be during the Medieval period, Nazi Germany or more recent times.
Meanwhile, AMP have many connections with actual blood on their hands.
