Palestine Action Thinks The Legal System Cares Their Co-Founder Threatened to Starve Himself

Following Palestine Action co-founder Richard Barnard’s arrest for blackmail, his colleagues show they are not the sharpest tools in the shed.

Richard BarnardRichard Barnard, one of the co-founders of direct action network Palestine Action was dramatically arrested in a police operation in north London yesterday afternoon and held at Barkingside police station overnight.

He was apparently detained under suspicion of ‘blackmail’. Colleagues believe this is related to the campaign’s actions against a Mayfair company called LaSalle Management Ltd, which owns the building in Kingsway where Israeli arms company Elbit Systems UK have their head office. Last month Barnard appeared in a video they released, speaking about the campaign against LaSalle and threatening a hunger strike if LaSalle don’t stop supporting Elbit and taking their rent.

As I wrote in this post, the actions taken against Elbit – namely blocking the entrance to the factory and then vandalizing it, causing property damage  – would itself seem to constitute blackmail. I very much doubt anyone cares whether Richard Barnard starves himself or not. I certainly don’t.

Meanwhile, Palestine Action has released another video showing their members committing crimes, with one even acknowledging “I might be committing a crime.”

Again, if you recognize any of these losers, please let us know so we can get Google to help ensure their employment prospects remain as poor as their hygiene.
