Yesterday, a number of Israel-haters made some very dangerous allegations, claiming Israel had attacked Al Aqsa mosque leading to a fire breaking out.

Some went even further, claiming Jews celebrated the fact the fire broke out:
This video is a horrifying testament to what Zionism has done to Judaism.

Of course, such allegations have the potential to inflame the situation further.
And of course, these allegations are entirely false.
Let’s start with the cause of the fire; it was not the result of an Israeli attack on worshippers, but rather the result of palestinian Arab rioters launching fireworks at Israelis at the Western Wall below.
Correction: Additional footage of the incident appears to show that the fireworks were fired from the Temple Mount toward the Western Wall below (where thousands of Jews were gathered for Jerusalem Day celebrations).

As for the dancing and singing Jews, they happened to be celebrating Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day) when the fire broke out.
Moment when the trees caught fire from another angle. As you may see people were celebrating down below without even knowing they will be accused of celebrating the fire that hasn’t even begun.pic.twitter.com/SWorTuk4pv

Israel advocated Avi Abelow was livestreaming on Facebook at the time and you can hear his surprise when he saw the fireworks:
Note his surprise; he was not celebrating the fire. Compare and contrast with how palestinian Arabs celebrated the rocket fire on Jerusalem yesterday – something none of those who now claim Jews celebrated the mosque fire have condemned.
The claims about the content of the song being chanted is entirely false. Avi Abelow was there all day and he confirms this is a song that was sung all day, well before the fire. It is a commonly sung song that relates to our victory over those who in the past tried to destroy us.
Those who are believing these libels without bothering to find out the truth need to do some very real soul-searching.
