Regular readers will know I am not a fan of Rabbi Shmuley Boteach (or as some call him, Shmuley Botayak). I have regularly criticized what I see as his cringey self-promotion and pandering to celebrities.
But fair’s fair. He recently encountered some antisemitism and handled it well, standing up for himself while calling out the Jew hatred:

Just please don’t come out with a Shmuley Antisemite Slayer action figure!
But in all seriousness, if you want to truly fight Jew hatred, Shmuley – which I do not doubt you do – you cannot sometimes give it the kosher seal of approval. Like you did when you decided to honor BLM co-founder Alicia Garza (an honor she rebuffed).
Still, well done in this case on showing your fellow Jews how to stand up for themselves loudly and proudly.
