As I mentioned in yesterday’s post about the Al-Ahli hospital libel against Israel, Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar were among the voices immediately denouncing Israel, relying solely on the Hamas-controlled Gaza Ministry of Health as their “proof.”
As the day unfolded and facts came to light proving almost conclusively that it was a misfired Islamic Jihad rocket that caused the damage and casualties (both of which had been exaggerated), one would have hoped Tlaib and Omar would do the right thing: retract their blood libels and apologize for spreading them.
I say hoped, not expected. Because their actual reactions were not surprising.
Tlaib not only did not delete her accusations or apologize; she actually doubled down in the face of the overwhelming evidence that Israel was not behind the hospital strike, repeating the claim at a rally – while crying of course (no tears for the murdered civilians from Israel though):
Despite it being proven wrong that Israel bombed a hospital in Gaza, Rep. @RashidaTlaib breaks down in tears at a pro-Hamas rally outside the Capitol repeating the claim Israel bombed a hospital.

She also went back online to insinuate that Israel must be lying when we show the world how it was an Islamic Jihad misfired rocket:
But don’t call her antisemitic – some of her best friends are Jew-ish (and she retweeted multiple times to somehow show this):
As for Ilhan, she did not quite retract nor apologize either. Rather, she posted this non-apology:
followed by this vague tweet that could be taken as an admission she was hasty in alleging Israel struck the hospital:
while still not accepting the overwhelming evidence that it a misfired Islamic Jihad rocket:
And since she and Tlaib follow the same playbook, we got the same “some of my best friends are Jewish” palaver:
Not to mention this almost hilarious tweet displaying a real lack of self-awareness:
I have long referred to Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar as the Hamas caucus in Congress. Since they parrot Hamas propaganda, I stand by that.
