Antisemite Bishrul Izadeen Charged For Swearing in Public But Not Calling For Genocide

On October 15, this anti-Israel protester defiantly called for a genocide of the Jews while acting defiantly in front of the police.

I am happy to report he’s been charged:

A Sydney man who allegedly made offensive comments at a pro-Palestine rally could face additional charges over the incident.

Bishrul Izadeen, 63, appeared in Downing Centre Local Court for the first time today charged over his statements at an October 15 protest in Sydney.

Asked by the court registrar how he was doing, the self-represented Izadeen replied “not so good”.

Izadeen indicated he would plead guilty to using offensive language during the rally.

He initially indicated he would plead guilty to using offensive language in or near a public place during the rally.

But the prosecutor said NSW Police were considering laying further charges and sought a four-week adjournment.

The registrar said he would not accept a guilty plea until all possible charges were confirmed.

Izadeen will be fined but could also face a bit of time behind bars. Under section 4A of the The NSW Summary Offences Act 1988, it is an offense to use “offensive language in or near, or within hearing from, a public place or a school.” The use of such language can result in a fine of up to $660 or imprisonment for up to 3 months.

What bothers me, though, is how the charge is for the swearing and not calling for genocide of Jews. Surely, the police have now seen the video, even if at the time they did not hear that part of his rant.

Advocating genocides an offence under section 80.2D of the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth) which carries a maximum penalty of 7 years in prison.

I guess what I am getting at is hoping the next time he is swearing out loud, it is in the prison shower.
