It is no secret that Candace Owens has in recent times engaged in despicable antisemitism (as I have shown here a number of times), earning her the nickname “Candace Ovens.” And by antisemitism I mean exactly what that word is meant to convey: Jew hatred. Not mere “criticism of Israel.”
Some recent examples have included publicly saying she will pray for Shmuley Boteach’s conversion to Christianity, leaving her live stream during Rabbi Ari Berman’s prayer at the Trump inauguration, and platforming raging Jew-haters.
And now we have the following: during a recent podcast episode, Ovens lashed out against us, sarcastically suggesting she is called “antisemitic” merely because she criticizes Israel. But right before that, she engaged in some of the most pernicious antisemitic tropes.
Jews as not human, goblineque creatures
The association of Jews with goblins is part of a broader history of dehumanization that has fueled antisemitic conspiracy theories and violence. Starting during the Middle Ages, Christian Europe frequently depicted Jews as monstrous beings aligned with the Devil, leading to the medieval blood libels. By the 19th century, as racial theories gained prominence, some depictions of Jews in literature and visual culture aligned them with goblins or other monstrous creatures. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, antisemitic propaganda in Europe often depicted Jews with exaggerated features like large noses, hunched backs, and clawed fingers—traits similar to how goblins have been portrayed in folklore.
So when Owens refers to us as goblins, she is tapping into a broader history of dehumanization that has fueled antisemitic conspiracy theories and violence.

Jews operating in the dark
The idea that Jews “operate in the dark” is rooted in centuries of antisemitic thought, from medieval religious prejudices to modern political conspiracy theories.
In medieval Christian Europe, Jews were often depicted as rejecting the “light” of Christianity and instead operating in the “darkness” of sin and heresy. This imagery was reinforced by biblical interpretations that associated Jews with secrecy, corruption, and betrayal (e.g., Judas Iscariot, who was falsely depicted as the archetypal Jew). The medieval blood libel portrayed Jews as engaging in dark, hidden practices.
By the 17th and 18th centuries, antisemites accused Jewish financiers of manipulating economies from behind the scenes, reinforcing the idea of a hidden Jewish agenda, culminating in the infamous fabricated Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which promulgated the idea of Jews operating in the shadows, manipulating governments, banks, and the media.
Of course, the Nazis also latched on to this idea, using imagery of Jews as shadowy figures controlling international affairs, often portraying them in dark rooms or behind curtains, orchestrating global events.

Jews as liars
The myth that Jews are inherently deceitful is a long-standing antisemitic trope used to justify discrimination, persecution, and violence.
In Christian tradition, Judas, the disciple who betrays Jesus, has often been falsely used as a stand-in for Jews as a whole, portraying them as untrustworthy and deceitful. Chistian antisemites have also misused John 8:44 in the New Testament (where Jesus rebukes certain Jewish leaders), to claim that Jews are inherently dishonest.
The medieval blood libel involved the idea that we secretly murdered Christian children for rituals and then lied to cover it up.
In Spain and Portugal, Jews who converted to Christianity (conversos) were accused of faking their conversions and secretly practicing Judaism, leading to the Spanish Inquisition.
And again, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion falsely claimed that Jews secretly conspired to rule the world through deception, while Nazi propaganda accused Jews of lying to manipulate politics, the economy, and the media.

Jews operating a network
The myth that Jews operate a secret network has been used for centuries to scapegoat Jewish communities for economic crises, political turmoil, and social change.
In medieval Europe, Jews were often segregated into ghettos and forced to rely on tight-knit community networks for survival. Christians, who did not understand Jewish religious and communal life, viewed this as secretive or suspicious.
The idea of Jews secretly running networks has persisted over time, whether it be Henry Ford’s antisemitic articles claiming that Jews ran a global network controlling finance, media, and politics, or the Nazis perpetuating the same idea.

“Neo-Cons”
While the term “neo-cons” (short for “neoconservatives”) is not inherently antisemitic, it has been used in ways that sometimes carry antisemitic undertones, depending on the context. Like here.
So no doubt Owens will use a post like this as “proof” there is a shadowy network of Jews trying to silence her for lifting the lid on all that is wrong with the world. But this is really about me exposing her for the very real Jew hatred she is disseminating, a type of Jew hatred that has a particularly bloody history, especially from those in history who – like her – bellowed out “Christ is King”.
