A very wise man once told me that to understand anything, you have to look through the eyes of the other person. I may have been awarded a PhD in physics, but I’ve actually spent longer studying Islam than I did getting that PhD.
This morning Khaled Abu Toameh accurately reported the following seemingly outlandish and lying claim by the PFLP terrorists who claimed yesterday’s Har Nof atrocity:
Everyone laughs at the stupid Arabs making stuff up: our own Ryan tweeted back and asked Khaled “are you serious?”.
Of course he is and PFLP are deadly serious. Let me translate looking through their Muslim eyes.
Islam is not an extension or mild modification of Judaism (some branches of Christianity are). Islam’s core is a “replacement theology” that replaces entirely Judaism and Christianity, borrowing some superficial similarities and large portions of holy texts and stories. In fact the entire “Palestinian” identity is a replacement identity stealing the identity of us Jews!
Accordingly the Jews who falsified the correct and true word of Allah (as reported to us by his final prophet, Muhammad), should have died out already. Christians stand accused of merely being led astray by the evil Jews.
The problem is we Jews have not disappeared and this is a major continuity problem for Islam.
Merely by existing, and not just as subjugated dhimmis under Muslim rule, thriving under our own rule, we represent an ongoing, unceasing and deadly attack on the entire foundation of Islam as the PFLP see it.
So yes, just by existing, and especially by existing in formerly Muslim-occupied Jerusalem, that synagogue and every other and those completely innocent Jews and every other Jew in Israel, represent an ongoing attack on Muslim Palestinians and their holy sites.
Footnote: It’s been pointed out to me, correctly, that the PFLP is a long way from the most Islamic of Palestinian terror groups. Here is the start of their Wikipedia entry:

I was aware of all this, of course, but the point is that EVEN for groups like this (and by extension Fatah) that are not as overtly Islamic as, say, Hamas or Da’esh (Islamic State), Islam permeates their world view. They cannot escape from its choke hold on how they view Jews because it is baked into their upbringing.
