Meet Some Interesting Folks

  1. Meet the palestinian clan head with close ties to the IDF and settlers of Hebron and Kiryat Arba, while opposing territorial concessions with Israel

I can still recall from the 70s and early 80s the Arab clan leaders in Hevron and Beit Lechem, both Christian and Muslim, who knew exactly what a mess was going to happen of Israel would give in in any which way to master terrorist Arafat.

These guys would inform the leading IDF commanders in their areas of any PLO/PFLP/etc. personnel or activities of relevance, as long as they wouldn’t get caught.

  2. This really is a red-letter day for me. AussieDave links to a Ha’aretz article that I have actually read and which confirms my own political beliefs (ie that there are those on the political left and right who are too comfortable with those who have long held anti-Semitic views to gain some immediate political advantage). And will you ever read about that Brooklyn bagel store story on “Atlas Shrugs” or “Jihad Watch?”

    1. What does the bagel story have to do with the totalitarian barbaric tenets of Islam that it should have been mentioned on AS or JW?

What do you think it proves in contrast to what AS and JW cover?

      1. Clumsy as my post might have been, I was trying to contrast IsraellyCool with these other two websites. Reality is painted in shades of gray, including featuring stories of Muslims who are decent, moral people. Something you never see featured by Islamaphobes such as Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer.

          1. Can you honestly say that “Atlas Shrugs” and “Jihad Watch” are superior sources of information than “IsraellyCool?” C’mon, Shy Guy, be honest. And besides, where else can you get my kind of hard-hitting commentary?

            1. AS and JW are reliable sources, with JW being highly reliable. Your epidermis is showing.

They serve completely different functions than this blog. You are comparing apples and oranges.

              1. You say I’m comparing apples and oranges. You mean in the same sense that Herman Cain’s political opponents do when they criticize his hopelessly unworkable 9-9-9 tax plan? If you’re saying Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer are professional Muslim-haters and AussieDave is not, then I suppose I am comparing these different fruits (apples, oranges, not AussieDave).

        1. But by all means, how do you contrast Israellycool with AS and JW?

Dave, beside your site serving a completely different purpose and focus from either AS or JW, how major a difference of opinion do you have from Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer with regard to all things Islam?

          1. You mean Dave has to have a mission statement, now? If I could offer why I choose to read and participate in IsraellyCool, I’d be happy to do that. For me, IsraellyCool is must reading because it puts forth an intelligent defense of Israel and provides a constant reminder of who Israel’s enemies are. And it can be quite entertaining as well. Oh, and opposing points of view are tolerated here.

Plus I would never bump into someone like you at my local Walmart, Shy Guy.

              Read the About page.

This is indeed what Israellycool is focused on. Not so AS and JW, although there is a common set of topics between all 3 sites.

Oh, and opposing points of view are tolerated here.

There are no lack of opposing views in the AS and JW comments section, as much as there are on DU and HuffPuff. Go to the mirror, boy!

Plus I would never bump into someone like you at my local Walmart, Shy Guy.

I never go to Walmart. Nothing but a bunch of fat-ass shoppers there.

              Oh… sorry…

              1. About Dave’s “About” page. That’s a brief biographical sketch of AussieDave which reads more like “The Most Interesting Man In The World” guy from those Dos Equis beer commercials. You must be self-employed or lived all your life on a family trust fund because you obviously have never had to write one of those dopey “mission statements” that were so popular back in the ’80’s in many office settings.

  3. can someone help me out with something?

today muslims across the globe celebrate eid whatever, remembering when abraham was going to sacrifice yishmael (rofl)

anyway….has any muslim ever explained how it is, if abraham was the one who founded islam, there was no one practicing it until mohamed showed up?

    1. I’m not sure it answers your question directly, Walt, but the new Adam Sandler holiday movie “Jack and Jill” where Adam plays a guy and also his twin sister who seem to have some sort of sibling rivalry. I think that’s kind of what it was like between Abraham and Ishmael. Also note the timing of the movie’s release at the beginning of this Muslim holiday. No coincidence I think.

  4. why would the economy affect bagels and bialys?

seems that ross did more than just change his name

oldest bialy store in the country…and there are no bagels like ny bagels (just like there is no sour dough like san francisco sour dough)

with a couple of corporate accounts (those wall streeters love their bagels mit smear) the biz should do ok

should have an outlet in each borough

dang…i suck at biz…but even i know how to make a buck in the bagel biz

just have to be into working 12 hour days starting at 5 am…6 days a week, with only shabbas and yom tov off
