Dear David Ward :
After reading your comment about Israel and Apartheid,
I think you should see what happened last night here in Jerusalem, Israel.
First: on Misgav Ledach Street in the Jewish Quarter,
an Arab family walked to the right, while a young Jewish couple walked to the left.
The family then walked past the Hurva Synagogue in the Rova.
(This is posted only in case you doubted the first photo and location.)
Second: A walk around the Walls of the Old City did not start until nearly midnight
because last night the holidays of Ramadan and Tisha B’Av coincided,
and the walkers had to wait for the Ramadan revelers to finish their evening meal.
The Israeli group was under very strong security supervision and escort.
The Damascus Gate was lit up, as it is every night for the month-long Muslim celebration.
Yes, David, the two groups were not treated the same last night.
While the Arab family walked safely and freely through a crowded Jewish neighborhood,
Jews were not allowed to even start walking until a protest was cleaned up.
So, David, can you see what is really wrong?
Israelis had to wait and could only proceed under tight police security,
and you do not hold the Arabs responsible for anything.
