Israel has promoted Arab police officer Jamal Hakrush to the highest rank ever attained by a Muslim in the force – deputy commissioner.

What they did not see fit to mention: One of his main responsibilities will be to stop illegal weapons falling into the hands of the Arab community. as well as fight the “frighteningly high” rates of domestic violence, murder, illegal weapons possession, and other crimes in the Arab sector.
