Terror Group PFLP on Election Ballot For German Bundestag

This is nothing short of outrageous.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, an EU and US classified terrorist entity responsible the murders of scores of Israelis, seeks to enter the German Bundestag in the September 24 federal election.

“It should not have been allowed to come to this that an anti-Israel terror organization in Germany formed an election alliance and is an election choice,” said Volker Beck, a Green Party MP.

Beck, who is chairman of the German-Israel parliamentary group in the Bundestag, said “the federal Interior Ministry must quickly act and ban the PFLP.”

The Marxist-Leninist Party of Germany (MLPD) joined forces with the PFLP to be on the election ballot. Germany’s most recent federal intelligence report, from 2016, listed the MLPD as a “leftist extremist party” that has been “unsuccessful in elections.”

The MLPD has 1,800 members and supporters, the intelligence report noted.

According to an August 16 report by journalist Stefan Laurin in the weekly German-Jewish newspaper Jüdische Allgemeine, the federal intelligence agency does not see a problem with PFLP.

Though the PFLP is included in the EU terrorist list, the intelligence agency said the PLFP “has not executed up until now any militant actions.”

So is this.

The PFLP held a celebration event for the 49th anniversary of the creation of the Palestinian terrorist organization with “the supporters of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine” in Berlin in December.

According to the PFLP website, the PLO’s ambassador to Germany, Kholoud Daibes, attended the event. A photograph of Doris Ghannam,a representative from the BDS (boycott, divest, sanctions) campaign against Israel in Germany, speaking at the PFLP event is also shown on the website.

It’s true. From the PFLP website:

Doris Ghannam spoke on behalf of BDS Berlin about the growing movement internationally to support the Palestinian people through boycott, divestment and sanctions against the racist occupation state, and popular action to cut the support lines given to occupation, oppression and apartheid by the German government and the European Union.

Doris Ghannam

Remember, the PLFP are a terrorist organization aiming towards a one-state solution – a palestinian state.

Which tells you all you need to know about the BDS movement.

  1. Normally, I would agree.

But this criticism is cowardly, duplicitous and hypocritical – because Israel allows PLO terrorist members to be elected to and serve in its own Parliament.

Israel needs to clean up its own house first before it lectures Germany about electing terrorists to the Bundestag.

    1. A good overall point.
However, correct me if I’m wrong, but I doubt any of those open supporters of terrorism, anti-Israel Arab List members are actually formal members of the PLO or any such organization. They aren’t shy about declaring solidarity and support for terror organizations, and worse, but are you sure about this detail?

      1. Whether they actually are formal members of the PLO/Hamas is irrelevant.

What counts is they actively support Israel’s destruction and they’re not expelled from the Knesset.

Again, why the complaint about Germany when Israel tolerates terrorists in its own legislature?

Israel should be leading by example or STFU.

        1. True points all around. But I’d argue there is still a distinction in this specific context. It’s one thing to have a parliamentarian who acts like a Nazi, but it’s another thing to let the Nazi party officially onto the ballot. The latter is more obscene than the former, if only by a little.
          So too here.
The Israeli case would be like disqualifying the Nazi party but allowing Henry Ford or rock-bottom-edition Mel Gibson to run for office.
The “funny” part about all this is that Israeli law as it already stands should disqualify the Arab List, or components of it, from running in elections, but nobody has the guts to enforce the law unless it’s against Jews.

  2. Correction: the PLFP “has not executed up until now any militant actions” IN GERMANY. Brutal terrorist attacks against Jews in Israel apparently don’t count.

    1. Neither has the Arab JOINT LIST in ISRAEL.

But their support for terrorism against Jews in Israel hasn’t led to their being outlawed.
