WATCH: Alan Parsons: Roger Waters And I Are No Longer in Touch

British music legend Alan Parsons performed in Haifa last night, the first of two concerts he will be performing here. But before that, he sat down for a great, relaxed interview with Ynet. The entire thing is worth watching, but what he said about ignoring Roger Waters’ BDS appeals is my favorite part.

That won’t be music to Waters’ ears, nor will this: Alan actually came to Israel a day early – to attend the Bar Mitzvah of his bass player’s son. In Jerusalem. (hat tip: David Brinn)

British music legend Alan Parsons is doing a little more than playing two shows with his band this week in Israel. Two day before performing in Haifa Thursday night, Parsons joined his band, who flew in a day early to attend the bar mitzva of Tal Erez, the son of the group’s bass player, Israeli- born Guy Erez.

The bar mitzva took place at the Yemin Moshe Synagogue in Jerusalem. Although Parsons has led his group on numerous foreign tours, it was the first time he had ever brought them to a bar mitzva. They will next appear on Saturday night in Tel Aviv’s Menora Mivtachim Arena.
