A month after revealing his Jew hatred at an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul, PA leader Mahmoud Abbas has continued the theme, this time in a speech of the PLO’s Central Committee.
Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas said that Israel is a “colonial project that has nothing to do with the Jews” in a speech of the PLO’s Central Committee on Sunday.
“Europeans wanted to bring the Jews here to preserve their interests in the region,” Abbas added.
He also declared that Israel “ended” the landmark Oslo peace accords of the 1990s with its actions.
“I am saying that Oslo, there is no Oslo,” he said at the start of a meeting of Palestinian leaders called to discuss US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
“Israel ended Oslo,” Abbas said, adding that the meeting must take decisions on how to move forward.
Not what Abbas is doing here: denying the Jewish connection to the land of Israel, and suggesting we are all interlopers from Europe. This is a favorite claim of antisemites. The only thing missing here is his mentioning we are descended from Khazars.
He also contradicts himself. On one hand, he totally rejects the idea of Jews being in Israel, yet suggests we ended Oslo – as if he and his people really signed on to it.
How anyone could still entertain the idea this man is a credible peace partner is beyond me.
