Almost two years ago, comedienne Sarah Silverman did the unthinkable: she retweeted me!
More specifically, she retweeted my post featuring a video of American-Israeli author and journalist Yossi Klein Halevi discussing how Israel-hate is really the latest incarnation of antisemitism (or as he succinctly put it, “how the state of the Jews has become the Jew of the states”).
Silverman received much flack for it, and I posed the question at the time:
On the positive side, Sarah Silverman did tweet out the post to begin with. Could this reflect a more informed view of the conflict than she has exhibited until now?
It would seem we have an answer.

By expressing support for BDS and the idea that Israel is an apartheid state, she has bought into the very ideas that Yossi Klein Halevi was pointing out as the latest incarnation of antisemitism.
At least she got one thing right.
