When it comes to perpetuating Jew-hatred, Iran’s Press TV is right up there. Throw in to the mix a show hosted by antisemite Chris Williamson, with fellow antisemites David Miller and Jackie Walker as guests, and you’ve got a Jew-pile-on-a-palooza.
In a recent episode of Williamson’s Palestine Declassified program, they discuss – wait for it – the “weaponization of antisemitism.” In it, they claim the attacks on Roger Waters are bogus, since he is absolutely not antisemitic. They then proceed to perpetuate the antisemitic trope of an all powerful lobby of Jews who manage to control members of foreign governments and the press, as well as the insinuation that ordinary Jews are not capable of protesting themselves, but are rather all on the Israeli government payroll.
Besides being antisemitic, none of what they allege is true.
Take the idea that the Israeli government led a coordinated effort to attack Waters, their proof being a Tweet by the Israel Twitter account:
This Twitter account is led by a young social media person, and I would be surprised if any senior government officials have any say whatsoever in its content.
Besides, I for one have been exposing Waters’ antisemitism well before this tweet.
If anything, the Israeli government have been taking a lead from yours truly and others. Take my 2017 video showing examples of Waters’ antisemitism. Israel’s then Ministry of Strategic Affairs came out with a similar one (and using some of the video I found) three years later. Who is leading who here?
In other words, these Jew-hating nincompoops not only do not prove that antisemitism is somehow “weaponized”, but actually show it in action by inventing a conspiracy theory based on an antisemitic trope.
