A few days ago was Tisha Be’Av, the saddest day on the Jewish calendar. on which we fast, deprive ourselves and pray. We do so because a lot of tragic events have occurred during history to the Jewish people on Tisha Be’Av, including the destruction of both the Jewish Temples in Jerusalem in 432BC and 59CE respectively.
Another tragedy to face the Jewish people is Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), the Israel-hating group that is not-so-Jewish and not-so-for-peace. I have documented their shenanigans for years, including their embarrassing co-opting of Jewish rituals and general ignorance of Judaism.
Yesterday, the following excerpt from a 2021 JVP Tisha Be’Av guide was doing the rounds on social media, showing just how ridiculous the group truly are:
Let’s not use Hebrew, the biblical, indigenous language of the Jewish people, but rather English (language of the British, one of the colonizers of the Holy land) or Arabic (language of another of the colonizers of the Holy land).
This has the same energy as this classic display of dumbassery by fellow as-a-Jews IfNotNow:

I do admit, though, that the fact the Jews were present in the Holy land before the palestinian Arabs could very well be very traumatizing for them. Imagine realizing your entire cause based on a lie.
But wait, isn’t Tisha Be’Av about great tragedies that befell the Jewish people, including destruction of the Jewish temples, the last of which was destroyed almost 600 years before the Islamic conquest of the Holy land – yet another reminder that the cause JVP advances is absolute bunk?
Just “release any attachment to the Temple” and voila! Problem solved.
((interestingly, their 2014 guide did not do so, so this is actually JVP getting more savvy!)
Meanwhile, I have to admit to posting about this guide in 2021and missing this insanity, instead getting stuck on the fact they named it “Grief Technologies” – butchering their beloved English language.
