JVP Outdo Themselves With Timing of “Anti-Zionist” Passover Seder

Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) Atlanta have advertised on Instagram an “Anti-Zionist Community Passover”

SAVE THE DATE! Join Jewish Voice for Peace Atlanta for a Passover liberation seder. Together we draw inspiration and courage from the story of our ancestral journey out of enslavement in Ancient Egypt, and strengthen the bonds of solidarity among all people committed to Palestinian safety, liberation, and self-determination. Details and RSVP link coming soon! With gratitude to the artist @ayeolaomolara

Image Description: Text reads “Anti-Zionist Community Passover, April 20th, all are welcome!” on a yellow background under which three illustrated hands of varying skin tones, with nails painted in the style of flags of many countries whose citizens are still fighting for liberation or equality, and tattoos that read “live free” and “solidarity”, are linked together. JVP Atlanta logo in bottom corner.

JVP advertising an “Anti-Zionist Community Passover” is no surprise at all.

True, Passover is one of the most Zionist Jewish festivals, in that it is a reminder as to the land of Israel being the homeland of the Jewish people, as well as our indigenousness to the land. But that has not stopped JVP and other “as-a-Jew” groups (or should that be “as-a-non-Jewpretending-to-be-as-a-Jew” groups) from co-opting it too many times to remember – with often embarrassing results.

And the fact they are holding it on April 20 – which is not at all on the festival of Passover itself – is also no surprise. These are, after all, the same kinds of numbskulls who have not worried about timing when it comes to Havdalah ceremonies, Purim, and….actual history.

But holding it on April 20 – Hitler‘s birthday – now that’s a new one!
