Hardly a day goes by when Nasser Mashni doesn’t open his piehole and come up with something worthy of derision. And I am usually there to rip the a-hole a new a-hole. Occasionally, he outdoes himself. This might just be such an occasion.
Behold Australia’s Gaslighter-in-Chief accusing someone else of… gaslighting!
Stop gaslighting us @ChrisMinnsMP
— Nasser Mashni (@iamthenas) December 30, 2025
I was born in Australia to a refugee victim of racist genocidal Zionism.
Australia is my home to, and home to many millions of us who abhor Israel’s genocide and Australia complicity!
Stop excluding us or making us your after thought! pic.twitter.com/Cfi27jIWTo
The first bit of gaslighting is even before this real-life villain opens his mouth – he’s wearing a Superman shirt.
Then he has the chutpzah to suggest no linkage between the attackers and the anti-Israel protesters. Granted, there is currently no proof of a direct linkage. But the attackers shared the same passionate hatred for “Zionists” that Mashni and gang exhibit.

Thank you @abcmelbourne and @Raf_Epstein for having me on to discuss the chant "Zionism is terrorism!"

Chanukah is one of the most Zionist holidays imaginable, so rhetoric and actions like those of Mashni and gang definitely contribute to the climate of hate that may have motivated the Bondi terrorists. I mean, it is not like Mashni opposes the killing of Zionists – some might argue he very much likes it. And he and his ilk have contributed to hate towards Jewish people – Zionist or otherwise – even if he denies it.

Then Mashni further gaslights by blaming NSW Premier Chris Minns for rising Islamophobia by “blurring the lines between protesters and violence.” By doing so, he is blurring the lines between “Islamophobia” and opposing the Israel hatred movement. This coming from someone who downplays the very real threat of antisemitism and who claims that anti-Zionism should not be conflated with antisemitism. Besides, it is not like those protesters themselves don’t do a great job of showcasing their own violence.

And how rich of Mashni of all people to deny violence in his movement.
Then the icing on Mashni’s gaslighting cake: Mashni lecturing about what is and what isn’t essential for a “functioning democracy.” This coming from someone who does not even recognize the validity of Australia as a country

and speaks of Australia (and the world) as belonging to him and his cronies:
Head of the Palestinian Lobby, @iamthenas , declared that “Melbourne is ours. Australia is ours. The world is ours.”

Whose? #melbourne #australia pic.twitter.com/YSpC1Nk8vk
So let’s recap: a man who downplays antisemitism, excuses or sanitises violence in his own movement, openly fantasises about a world without “Zionists,” rejects the legitimacy of Australia itself, and dresses up his ideological thuggery as “human rights” now wants to lecture the rest of us about gaslighting and democracy. Got it.
