Lebanese BDS-holes are on the warpath – against the new Batman vs Superman movie.
The Lebanese branch of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement has demanded that the government ban the screening of the new Hollywood movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, starring Israeli actress Gal Gadot, the Lebanese daily newspaper al-Akhbar reported Saturday.
According to the report, the movement recently sent a letter to the Israel boycott office in the Lebanese Economic Ministry to inform officials that the film, which has been screened in Lebanese cinemas, stars an Israeli actress.
“This actress served in the IDF and was crowned the beauty queen of Israel. She also revealed her support for the IDF during the last war in Gaza,” wrote Dr. Abdel Malik Sukria, the representative of the Lebanese BDS movement. “We are confident that you will give this grave issue serious consideration,” he added
Yes, let’s give this some serious consideration…ok done. This is one of the dumbest things I have heard in a while, even by BDS-hole standards.
According to Box Office Mojo, Batman vs Superman has a worldwide gross of over $850 million. It opened in Lebanon over a month ago, and has grossed almost $820,000, including an opening weekend of almost $350,000. So a boycott of the movie now will not accomplish anything, except perhaps saving a few extra Lebanese from a terrible movie.
Plus why pick on this movie only? Hollywood is full of Israel-supporters. Here ya go, BDS-holes, go through this list of pro-Israel celebrities and knock yourselves out! I am sure Lebanese and Arab cinema is more than adequate to make up for the lack of Hollywood. And there’s always Pallywood too!
