Last night, a group of Israel-haters, including Roger Waters and Brian Eno, got together for a Zoom discussion titled Let’s Talk It Over #2: Electric Boogaloo Israeli Apartheid.
It was the usual talking points: Israel is bad; antisemitism charges are false and trumped up by the Israeli government; yada yada yada.
Oh, and the requisite bit of antisemitism from Waters.
But what really struck me about the discussion was just how drunk Waters seemed. He was constantly fidgeting in his seat, and at one stage looked like he was refraining from vomiting. He even admitted to drinking at the pub right before the Zoom, and spoke of sitting on his “usual stool.”
I’ve, umm, distilled the relevant parts.
Waters really seems to have a problem. Besides his antisemitism.
Hatred is not the only thing that intoxicates.
